Edwin R. Thiele

Edwin R. Thiele (1895-1986) was a missionary, writer, archaeologist, and professor of the Old Testament. He is best known for his doctoral research on Old Testament chronology at the University of Chicago. This work, in which Thiele attempted to construct a consistent chronology of the Hebrew kings, became well known after its publication under the title The Mysterious Numbers of the Hebrew Kings.
