Dutch Apple Pie

The basis of Dutch apple pie is a crust on the bottom and around the edges. This is then filled with pieces or slices of apple. The apple filling is generally covered with cinnamon and sugar. Sometimes, the filling can be sprinkled with liqueur to give it a stronger taste. Atop the filling, stands of dough cover the top of the pie in such a way that the filling is held in place, but still visible.
