Misc.

Every year, more than one percent of all graduating engineers in the US graduate from Drexel University. Drexel University is well known for its co-op program, which it calls "The Ultimate Internship". A student in Drexel's five-year co-op program completes a bachelor's degree in five years while acquiring eighteen months of on-the-job experience over three six-month periods during the sophomore, pre-junior, and junior years. When people think they are getting a bad deal from the University, they often refer to it as getting the "Drexel Shaft." The Drexel Shaft is also a smokestack structure on the rail yard next to the campus, and according to university legend the structure grows one more inch every time a student is shafted. Drexel University's campus is located right next to University of Pennsylvania in University City, Philadelphia. Drexel was ranked 106th amongst national universities by US News & World Report in their latest annual college rankings.
