Dream StreetDream Street was the name of a teen bubblegum pop group from 2000 - 2002. The group was put together by producers Louis Baldonieri and Brian Lukow, and featured five boys from New York (Jesse McCartney, Greg Raposo, Matt Ballinger, Frankie Gallasso, and Chris Trousdale). Baldonieri and Lukow hoped to make an impact on the pop music industry by introducing a group of teenagers to the scene, all of whom had prior stage singing experience. Their first recording was the song "They Don't Understand", featured on the Pokemon 2000 soundtrack in 2000. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2001 and was certified Gold in the US by the RIAA. The final Dream Street release was the soundtrack album to the yet-to-be-released film The Biggest Fan starring former Dream Street member Chris Trousdale. In early 2002, four of the members and their parents (McCartney, Raposo, Ballinger, and Gallasso) filed suit against Louis Baldonieri and Brian Lukow to revoke their prior approval of their initial production agreement. The New York Supreme Court denied the request. The group officially disbanded, with only Chris Trousdale staying with the production team of Baldonieri and Lukow. Dream Street was also the title of the sophomore follow-up album for pop singer Janet Jackson. More pop than her debut's "bubblegum soul" feel, the album wasn't the runaway success that Janet's father Joseph thought it would, peaking at #147 on the Billboard charts in 1984. It did have one memorable hit for Jackson, the Top 10 R&B single, Don't Stand Another Chance, produced by brother Marlon. Jackson would break out of her squeaky-clean sounds with her Control album in 1986.
