Down (Band)

Down was a Southern heavy metal band that was formed in 1994 and split up in 1996; they later reformed in 2001 before disbanding again in 2004. The band's current status is unknown, with most of the members pursuing other projects. Down comprises members from several bands, including Pantera, Superjoint Ritual, Corrosion of Conformity and Eyehategod. After the December 2004 murder of Pantera/Damageplan guitarist, Dimebag Darrell, Phil Anselmo hinted that he may not pursue any musical projects in the near future. However, it has been rumored he is working on a new project titled Body and Blood, which is supposed to be more dark, mellow and ambient than his previous projects.
