Doug Martsch

Doug Martsch, a native of Boise, Idaho (U.S.), is best known for his distinctive vocals and guitar style in the band Built to Spill. He has worked with Calvin Johnson of Beat Happening in The Halo Benders. His first band, before Built to Spill, was the Treepeople, in which he released three albums. In 2002 he released his first solo album, Now You Know to much critical success. Martsch's guitar style blends rock, blues and folk.
