Dingnan Jiedushi

The "Jiedushi of Dingnan" (jiedushi 節度使 Dingnan 定難) was Li Jiqian of 10th and 11th century China. He was awarded the position of military governor (jiedushi) of Dingnan, and King of Xiping by Emperor Zhenzong of Song China. It is believed that as Emperor Zhenzong aceeded the throne he bestowed this position, along with the recognition of Li Jiqian's new Empire of Xia, to avoid lengthy and expensive military campaigns.
