Digitrax is a company that makes Digital Command Control systems and accessories for model railroaders. This company is currently headquartered in Norcross, Georgia and has been in the DCC field since the 1980's. Digitrax makes 3 DCC systems that is out on the market, these 3 systems are as follows:

Digitrax DCC systems

  • Zeypher (this DCC is a starter set and is for small layouts, you can only operate 10 trains on this system)
  • Empire Builder (this is a better system for medium sized layouts, you can get the optional radio equipped version for a few dollars more)
  • Super Chief (this is the big daddy of the systems, you can run up to 120 trains at any time on this system and is for big layouts, the radio equipped version is a few dollars more)
Digitrax currently has a book out called The Big Book of DCC and can help modelers out on some of the troublesome parts on model railroading (IE: reverse loops, programming, signals, etc...). Other than the DCC systems Digitrax makes, they also make handheld throttles, detection units, locomotive decoders, auto reversing modules, signals and signalling equipment, and turnout controls. Even though Digitrax is a company for model railroaders by model railroaders, they are always looking to the future of model railroading.
