Deptford Railway Station

Deptford railway station is a station in Deptford, London Borough of Lewisham. It is located on the Greenwich line, almost five miles from London Bridge station. The staggered platforms are on the high brick viaduct on which this line runs at this point, above High Street, Deptford.

History

The station came into existence when the London and Greenwich Railway opened its first section between Spa Road Bermondsey and Deptford on 8 February 1836; the line was extended eastwards to a temporary station at Greenwich on24 December 1838.
