Democratic Social Movement

The Democratic Social Movement (Greek: Dimokratiko Koinoniko Kinima (DI.K.KI), Δημοκρατικο Κοινωνικο Κινημα (ΔΗ.Κ.ΚΙ)) was a Greek democratic socialist political party. In the 1999-2004 European Parliament they had elected members that sat in the European United Left - Nordic Green Left group. The president and founder of DI.K.KI was Dimitris Tsovolas who, after his party had failed to elect members in the Hellenic Parliament in two consecutive elections, unilaterally decided to dissolve it. Several party members who were frustrated with wis decision went to court over this, and the court ruled that DI.K.KI. legally exists. However, there is hardly any hope for its revival.
