Del Rey Manga

Del Rey Manga, an arm of Random House Publishing (the publishing division of Bertelsmann AG), is a company that publishes manga in North America. Del Rey made their debut in May 2004 with four manga titles: They have since then licensed seven additional titles: Del Rey has made several choices in how they format their manga that has made them very popular.
  1. They keep the manga in its original right to left reading format.
  2. They include detailed notes from the translators.
  3. Pages that were in color in the Japanese manga are colored in the Del Rey versions.
  4. They include previews of the next manga volume with the original Japanese text.
  5. They include the original honorific suffix at the ends of Japanese names (-san, -kun, etc) in all of their manga. In addition, Del Ray includes at the start of all of their titles a detailed explanation of the honorific system.
