Deathbird Stories

A collection of nineteen short speculative fiction and horror stories by Harlan Ellison and published in 1973. The stories are themed around the idea of 'new gods' or how old gods die and new objects of worship are called into being. The book includes a 1973 introduction and a stern 'Caveat Lector' page advising the reader against enjoying the volume in one sitting. The title of the book comes from 'Deathbird', the nineteenth story in the collection.
