DearS is an anime series 12 episodes long based on the manga of the same title(available domestically from Tokyopop). The first volume of the manga was released on January 2005. The second volume is slated to arrive on store shelves in April 2005. The main character is Takeya, a second year high school student. The anime has been licensed for Region 1 DVD release by Geneon with the first volume due out in the third quarter of 2005. The show was first shown on Japanese television on July 2004.
