David Swift

David Swift (born 1933) is a British actor, best known for his role in the sitcom, Drop the Dead Donkey. Swift is the brother of another popular British actor, Clive Swift, with whom he has sometimes performed. He is also the father of actress Julia Swift. Born in Liverpool, he made his television debut in 1961, and since then has rarely been off the screen. However, it is as the irascible newsreader Henry Davenport in the 1990s series, Drop the Dead Donkey, that he has become popular. Swift, David Swift, David
