David Hedison

Actor Albert David Hedison, Jr, billed as either Al Hedison or David Hedison, was born May 20 1927 in Providence, Rhode Island. Hedison starred in the 1958 movie The Fly. Among his numerous other TV and movie credits, he appeared in the TV version of Irwin Allen's Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, and played Spencer Harrison on the American soap opera Another World from 1991 to 1996. He is also notable as the only actor to have played James Bond's CIA comrade Felix Leiter in two movies (Live and Let Die and Licence to Kill). In 2004, he debuted on The Young and the Restless as Arthur Hendricks.

Trivia

In Licence to Kill, an early scene involved Felix Leiter parachuting to a church. The parachute jump was filmed with a double, but Hedison was filmed landing by being attached to a crane and brought to the ground. Director John Glen asked the crane operator to speed the crane up to allow Hedison to land quicker, but it was done too quickly and as a result of this, Hedison had a limp for the rest of the film.
