David Hare

David Hare (born June 5, 1947) is a British dramatist. Hare was born in Sussex and was educated at Lancing College and at Jesus College, Cambridge. His first play, Slag, was produced in 1970. In 1973, he was appointed resident dramatist to the Nottingham Playhouse, a major provincial theatre. In 1975, he helped found the Joint Stock Theatre Company.
