Dav Pilkey

David "Dav" Pilkey (b.March 4 1966), is a popular children's author and artist. Pilkey was born in Cleveland, Ohio. In elementary school, he was diagnosed as suffering from Attention Deficit Disorder. Frequently sent to sit at a desk in the hallway because of his disruptive behavior, Pilkey began creating his first comic books. His odd nickname came from a spell of employment in a pizza parlor; the management spelt his name "Dav" on his card, and the mistake stuck. He published the Dumb Bunnies series of books under the nom de plume Sue Denim, a joke form of “pseudonym”. Pilkey wrote and illustrated the popular Captain Underpants series, the Ricky Ricotta series, and The Adventures of Super Diaper Baby. He also wrote the Dumb Bunnies series, and the Dragon series. He published his first book, World War Won, when he was only nineteen years old. He currently lives in Oregon, and is a vegan.
