Daniel Gooch

Sir Daniel Gooch (August 24 1816October 15 1889) was the first chief mechanical engineer of the Great Western Railway from 1837 to 1864. He was the brother of John Viret Gooch. He eventually rose to be Chairman of the Great Western Railway.
