Dacia LoganThe Logan is a car conceived by the Renault group for markets where the population has a lower purchasing power than in the West. Its price range will start at 5,000 euros. It replaces the Dacia 1300 series cars that were a Romanian version of the Renault 12. It is currently produced in Romania, where it is sold under the brand Dacia and was launched in the fall of 2004. The Logan was the result of the project X90 announced by Renault in 1998, started after the buy-out of Dacia in 1999. This project includes a sedan (already released), a hatchback, a station wagon and a pick-up truck. Sharing the front platform of the Clio and the rear of a Modus, it is based on the B platform of the future Clio, the Modus and of the latest version of the Micra. It respects all the European norms. After Romania, it is planned to be produced in developing markets such as Russia, Iran, India, Morocco, and South America. Depending on the presence of Renault on these markets, it would be decided whether to use the Renault or Dacia brand. In markets where Renault has a limited presence, like Russia, it will be sold as a Renault. On other markets, like Morocco, the Logan will allow Dacia to make itself known. Prices could reach 8500 euros, depending on equipment and the customs duty. Renault originally had no plans to sell Logan in Western Europe, but has announced that it will probably import the Logan starting June 2005. It will badged as a Dacia, but is expected to be sold in Renault dealerships. External links
