Curt HennigCurt Hennig (March 28 1958 - February 10 2003), also known by his stage name Mr. Perfect, was a professional wrestler for the AWA, WWF, and WCW promotions, and son of wrestler Larry "The Axe" Hennig. He was one of the most popular stars in the WWF during the late 1980s and early 1990s, winning the Intercontinental title on two occasions. During a temporary injury-forced retirement in 1992, he became "consultant" to Ric Flair during Flair's World title run in the WWF. Together with Bobby Heenan, they were the three most hated men in the promotion. After briefly returning to active competition in 1993 and 1994, he spent some time as a color commentator for WWF programming, and in 1997 he signed with WCW. He won the United States title in late 1997, and the World tag team titles in 1999 with Barry Windham. He returned to WWE in 2002 as a surprise competitor in the Royal Rumble but was released from the company later in the year after supposedly becoming intoxicated and getting into a fight with Brock Lesnar on a return flight from the United Kingdom. After being fired from the WWE, he went on to work for NWA-TNA and Jimmy Hart's All Star Wrestling. His trademark "finisher" move was a fisherman suplex into a bridging pin, which he called the Perfect-Plex (when in WWF/WWE) or the Hennig-Plex (in other promotions).
