Crystal (Mathematics)

Crystal in homological algebra is a diagram with points and arrows. The representation of a crystal is then an assignment to each point a space and to each arrow a morphism satisfying certain conditions. The term crystal is also used in the theory in algebraic geometry of a certain type of algebraic differential equation (with divided power structure) that is used to define crystalline cohomology).
