Connor (Angel)

Connor is a character in the fictional universe of Angel created by Joss Whedon. Connor was the son of two vampires, Angel and Darla. In an event which was thought impossible, the two vampires reproduced, the end result being Connor, a human boy, with superhuman strength and reflexes. A short while before Connor was conceived, his father Angel underwent a series of trials to save Darla's life. However, when he had passed the trials he discovered that Darla could not be saved; she had already once died as a human, and humans can only have two chances at life. Jasmine later revealed that the life that Angel was owed by passing these trials became Connor. This explains how Darla was able to become pregnant. Connor was introduced into Angel in the third season, when Darla staked herself to give birth to him. In a checkered, life, Connor lived with Angel and his comrades in the Hyperion Hotel, until Holtz, long-term adversary of Angel stole him and took him to a demon dimension. In this dimension, as in most demon dimensions, time ran more quickly, and hence Connor grew up at an accelerated rate. He eventually returned, after being brainwashed by Holtz to believe that Angel was evil. In a fiery reintroduction to the show, Connor tried several times to kill Angel, but only distanced himself from his humanity. He eventually overcame his brainwashing, only to be manipulated by a malevolent goddess in the form of Cordelia Chase. Once the goddess was defeated, Angel made a deal with "The Powers That Be" to replace all of Connor's memories and the memories of Connor from all who had known him, allowing Connor to live a normal life. However, these memories were inadvertently restored a while after his foster parents consulted with Wolfram & Hart due to demonic attacks on their son. Wesley had caught on that their memories had been altered, and, thinking that Angel had traded Fred's life to Wolfram and Hart, smashed a specific artifact, stripping away all illusions, while Connor was in the room. Connor was seen twice in the final season of Angel including the series finale.
