Congress Of Guatemala

The Congress of the Republic (Spanish: Congreso de la Repblica) is the unicameral legislature of the Republic of Guatemala. It comprises 140 deputies, who are elected by direct universal suffrage to serve four-year terms. (Prior to the election of the current Congress, there were only 113 deputies.) The last election was held on 9 November 2003; see Guatemala election, 2003. Following this election, party strengths within Congress stand as follows: Guatemala also returns deputies to the supranational Central American Parliament.
