Commission For Racial Equality

The Commission for Racial Equality (CRE) is a non-governmental organisation in the United Kingdom which tackles racial discrimination and promotes racial equality. It was set up under the Race Relations Act 1976.

Issues

  • National identity cards. In their January 2005 report doc, the CRE raised concerns over the potential affects of the Identity Cards Bill on ethnic minority and vulnerable groups in society.
