Coatbridge

Coatbridge is a town in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is also the largest town in the district of Monklands, a district which also contains Airdrie, Plains and other smaller villages. In the last century, Coatbridge was a heavy industry town, which has led to deprivation as the steel and coal industries collapsed. The local football team are Albion Rovers F.C. whose only recent news worthy events were the 8 - 1 thrashing of East Stirlingshire F.C. and the sexist views of their former manager Peter Hetherston who coomented that women should not be officiating at football matches and "should be at home making the dinner". There are a few "famous" duos who come from Coatbridge, namely Hue and Cry and Fran and Anna. Britney Spears recently relaxed in the Coatbridge's Hollywood Bowl in preparation for a concert at Glasgow's SECC.
