Club Sandwich

A club sandwich, also called a clubhouse sandwich, is a type of sandwich which originated in the USA. It consists of three slices of white bread, often toasted, traditionally with ham, turkey or chicken, and always bacon and mayonnaise. Other toppings such as tomatoes, onions and lettuce are popular; club sandwiches go particularly well with a crisp dill pickle spear. In Denmark a club sandwich refers to a toasted bread or bun sandwich with a filling of chicken, curry dressing, bacon, and usually lettuce and tomato.
