Classical Ballet

Classical ballet is a dance to classical music. The proper dress is tights and leatard, with an optional skirt. The dancer wears technic shoes until their bones are strong enough to wear point shoes. TheFreeDictionary.com defines classical ballet as "a style of ballet based on precise conventional steps performed with graceful and flowing movements." Classical ballet is based on the steps, positions and body carriage that originated before the 20th century.
