Claregalway

Claregalway is a village situated about 10km from the city of Galway in County Galway, Ireland. It is situated on the river Clare, hence the derivation of its name. Claregalway has some features of historical interest, namely an old monastery and a Norman watchtower (small castle). Claregalway hosts an annual drama festival and is home to a GAA club, a Catholic church called St. James and the Assumption, a primary school, a funeral home, and two large hotels. Claregalway is expanding rapidly, the two hotels being new developments. The expansion of Claregalway is as a satellite town/village of fast-growing Galway, with many Galway workers choosing to live outside the city environs in a more rural setting.
