City Of Angels

City of Angels is a film that was directed by Brad Silberling in 1998. The film is a recasting of the story in Wim Wenders' film Wings of Desire, but moved to Los Angeles, California. In the film, an angel falls in love with a human and has to decide whether to become mortal to spend human life with her.

Johnny Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls wrote Iris specifically for this soundtrack, though it was also included on their 1998 CD, Dizzy Up the Girl
City of Angels was also the name of a short-lived television series which told the story of a private detective in 1930s Los Angeles, California. It starred Wayne Rogers.
City of Angels was also the name of a musical comedy with music by Cy Coleman, lyrics by David Zippel, and book by Larry Gelbart. It was set in Los Angeles in the late 1940s and ran on Broadway from 1989 to 1992.
