Chueca is the gay village in Madrid. A few years ago it was a dangerous area where drugs and male-prostitution were rampant. However, now it has become more popular in fashion and trade. There are many new shops, cafes and discotheques. In Chueca you can find many businesses oriented to the gay community, such as travel agencies, lawyers and psychoterapists. It has become a quite popular spot for people of all types. Some people come because of the great restaurants available, some others for the bright nightlife.
