In Greek mythology, Chryse (Greek: Χρύση, Khrsē) was a lover of Ares and mother of Phlegyas. Chryse (Greek: Χρύση, Khrsē) is also an island in the Mediterranean where, in Greek mythology, Philoctetes was bitten by a snake. Chryse also the name of a town mentioned in The Iliad, from which Agamemnon took Chryseis
