Chicken Lady

The Chicken Lady was a character portrayed by Mark McKinney on the sketch comedy show Kids in the Hall. She is a middle-aged, apartment-dwelling, sexually-obsessed freak, the result of mating between a farmer and a hen. She was first presented in the tail end of a sketch, in which Dave Foley and Bruce McCulloch portay two kids who came from the country to the freak show in town. After they annoy the nose bleeding man, they finish the sketch by kicking hay at the Chicken Lady who is screaming in pain as she trys to lay eggs in order to entertain any freak-show goers. The first fully featured sketch featuring the Chicken Lady centered around her blind date with an unsuspecting young man (played by Dave Foley) who comes to meet her at her apartment. Although clearly repulsed by her appearance and mannerisms, he is initially compelled to stay. However he finally flees when she feeds him an omelette made from an egg out of her own body. Catch phrases:
  • "I'm a Chicken Lady"
  • "Gotta get laid, gotta get laid"
  • "Cause it adds up! Cause it adds up!
