Chater Garden

Chater Garden, located in the Hong Kong SAR Central district, is a park directly east of the Legislative Council building. Because of its proximity to the seat of government, it has been used as a location for political rallies and demonstrations by groups in Hong Kong such as Falun Gong. The garden was developed in the 1970s, taking up space left by the Hong Kong Cricket Club who moved to Wong Nai Chung Gap. It is named after Sir Paul Chater, and one side of the garden is on Chater Road which is also named after him.
