Chater Garden
Chater Garden
, located in the
Hong Kong SAR
Central district
, is a park directly east of the
Legislative Council building
. Because of its proximity to the seat of government, it has been used as a location for political rallies and demonstrations by groups in Hong Kong such as Falun Gong. The garden was developed in the
1970s
, taking up space left by the
Hong Kong Cricket Club
who moved to
Wong Nai Chung Gap
. It is named after
Sir Paul Chater
, and one side of the garden is on
Chater Road
which is also named after him.
