Charleville-mzires

Charleville-Mzires is a town and commune in northeastern France, prfecture (capital) of the Ardennes dpartement.

History

The commune of Charleville-Mzires was created in 1966 by the administrative grouping of five former communes, which already formed a single agglomeration. These communes were: Charleville, tion, Mzires (former prfecture), Mohon and Montcy-Saint-Pierre. Another commune, Le Theux, had already been included into Mzires in 1965.

Geography

Charleville-Mzires is located on the banks of the Meuse River.
