Cceres (Province)

Cáceres is a province of western Spain, in the northern part of the autonomous community of Extremadura. It is bordered by the provinces of Salamanca, Ávila, Toledo, and Badajoz, and by Portugal. Its capital is the city of Cáceres. Other cities in the province include Plasencia. See also List of municipalities in Cceres. 410,242 people (2002) live in Cáceres, of whom one-fifth live in the capital.
