Carrabelle, Tallahassee And Georgia Railroad

The Augusta, Tallahassee and Gulf Railroad Company, originally the Thomasville, Tallahassee and Gulf Railroad Company, only built a short portion of its line. It was then sold to the Carrabelle, Tallahassee and Georgia Railroad Company. The Carrabelle, Tallahassee and Georgia Railroad Company was incorporated under the general incorporation laws of Florida Florida state law chapter 4264, approved May 22, 1893, granted land to the company that had formerly been granted to the Thomasville, Tallahassee and Gulf Railroad Company (on February 7, 1883). To obtain the land grants, the railroad would have to be finished between Tallahassee and Thomasville by January 1, 1895.
