Captain Moroni

The Book of Mormon, one book of scripture held sacred by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Mormons more generally, presents Captain Moroni (BoM Arabic موروني Mūrūnī), as a righteous Nephite military commander, who lived around 100 B.C. Captain Moroni, is often erroneously confused with Prophet Moroni, son of Mormon, (late 4th Century AD). Information about Captain Moroni may be found in Chapters 43 through to 63 in Book of Alma, which is in The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. Moroni became the chief captain of all Nephite armies when he was only 25 years old. This section of scripture contains an account of his works in this office. Moroni is represented as an man of righteousness who relies on the Lord for his strength. He is also notable for the "title of liberty", under which he rallied his people to defend their families and their freedom.
