Captain Black (Captain Scarlet)

Captain Black is a fictional character who is the recurring enemy and agent of the Mysterons from the 1960s British children's science-fiction television series Captain Scarlet, produced by Gerry Anderson. Captain Black is a code name; his real name is never revealed in the series, although subsequent publications have given this as Conrad Turner. His transformation from human to Mysteron occurs in the first episode of the series on Mars, the Mysteron homeworld. As one of the first three humans to behold the Mysteron complex, Black panics and launches a full attack on the complex. However, the Mysteron's retrometabolic powers are witnessed for the first time, and Black becomes their agent. It is never clear how this quite happens, and whether or not Black's ship, the Martian Exploration Vehicle, is destroyed in the few moments that the audience witness the reconstruction of the complex.
