calcot

Calcot is a suburb of Reading, near to Junction 12 of the M4 motorway, in the English county of Berkshire.

Government

Although unquestionably a suburb of Reading, Calcot is not within the Borough of Reading. Rather it forms part of the civil parish of Holybrook, which has an elected parish council. It in turn is part of the area of the unitary authority of West Berkshire. Both the parish council and the unitary authority are responsible for different aspects of local government. Calcot is part of the Reading West parliamentary constituency.
