Cal-Nev-Ari is a census-designated place and town located in Clark County, Nevada, near the state's southernmost point. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 278. The town's name is a portmanteau of California, Nevada, and Arizona.

Geography

-Nev-Ari is located at 35°18'12" North, 114°52'51" West (35.303196, -114.880795). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.0 km² (2.3 mi²). 6.0 km² (2.3 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 278 people, 154 households, and 93 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 46.7/km² (120.9/mi²). There are 199 housing units at an average density of 33.4/km² (86.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 95.32% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.80% from other races, and 2.88% from two or more races. 2.16% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 154 households out of which 7.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.8% are married couples living together, 1.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 39.6% are non-families. 33.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 1.81 and the average family size is 2.20. In the CDP the population is spread out with 7.6% under the age of 18, 1.1% from 18 to 24, 14.7% from 25 to 44, 42.1% from 45 to 64, and 34.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 59 years. For every 100 females there are 104.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 110.7 males. The median income for a household in the CDP is $42,563, and the median income for a family is $44,333. Males have a median income of $24,632 versus $19,531 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $20,870. 0.0% of the population and 0.0% of families are below the poverty line.
