After his retirement, his sons Richard and George Cadbury created a major factory and purpose-built suburb called Bournville four miles south of the city. The two companies merged to form Cadbury Schweppes in 1969. Cadbury also has factories including those in Dunedin, New Zealand and Claremont in Tasmania. As of August 2004, Cadbury Trebor Bassett has eight factories and 3,000 staff in the UK. The company's United States beverage units include Dr Pepper/Seven Up, Inc., Mott's, and Snapple Beverage Group.
