Bldite is a hydrated sodium magnesium sulfate mineral with formula: Na₂Mg(SO₄)₂4(H₂O). The mineral is clear to yellow in color and forms monoclinic crystals. A synonym for the mineral is bloedite. Bldite is named for German chemist Carl August Blde (1773-1820) and is found in evaporitic sedimentary enviroments such as the Great Salt Lake, Utah. The type locality is Ischler Salzberg, Upper Austria.
