Black Mesa EastBlack Mesa East is a resistance base in the computer game Half-Life 2. Black Mesa East is located mostly underground near the dam in Waterhazard and south of the virtually abandoned town of Ravenholm. When Gordon Freeman enters Black Mesa East, he is greeted by Dr. Judith Mossman, who escorts him into the base. He is then reunited with his old mentor and colleague Dr. Eli Vance and his daughter Alyx Vance. Alyx later gives Gordon the Gravity Gun, a tool used for heavy lifting and handling of hazardous materials that can also be used as a weapon.
