Binary Equipment Corporation

Binary Equipment Corporation is a fictitious corporation featured prominently in the American film Takedown. Various labels that appear in the movie abbreviate the corporation as BEC. In the film, a character vaguely based on the real-life mastermind hacker Kevin Mitnick physically infiltrates the security of a computer facility of a local university by impersonating a technician from the Binary Equipment Corporation. It is commonly thought that BEC was intended to be an imaginary version of the actual Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC).
