Big BusinessBig business is a pejorative term referring to large corporations alleged to have disproportionate political and economic power, or otherwise be faceless, selfish, and indifferent to the needs of the general public.
Big Business is a 1929 Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy comedy short subject. The two play Christmas tree salesmen who wind up destroying a grumpy customer's house. Leo McCarey and H.M. Walker wrote the screenplay; James W. Horne and McCarey directed. The film has been selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry.
Another film named Big Business appeared in the 1980s: a comedy starring Lily Tomlin and Bette Midler. It had the situation of two pairs of twins mixed up as babies. One pair (played by Tomlin and Midler) ends up in a rich family while the other pair ends up in a poor family. Both pairs run into each other in a New York hotel, creating a comedy situation.
Big Business is also the name of a computer game for the Amiga.
