Barry Cryer

Barry Cryer (born March 23, 1935) is a writer and comedian. He started at the Windmill Theatre, London, a club which showed comedy acts in between nude shows. Cryer has written for a long list of people, including:
Dave Allen, Stanley Baxter, Jack Benny, Rory Bremner, George Burns, Jasper Carrott, Tommy Cooper, Les Dawson, Dick Emery, Kenny Everett, Bruce Forsythe, David Frost, Bob Hope, Frankie Howerd, Richard Pryor, Mike Yarwood, The Two Ronnies and Morecambe and Wise.

Career highlights

In the 1970s he appeared with Tim Brooke-Taylor and John Junkin in the BBC radio series Hello, Cheeky! which basically consisted of the three performers bouncing jokes off of each other. He also had a role in All You Need Is Cash. He toured with Willie Rushton in the show Two Old Farts in the Night, which was released on video, and That Reminds Me after Rushton's death. He is also famous for doing after-dinner speeches. For thirty years, he has been, and continues to be, one of the panellists on I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue. He also writes and stars in You'll Have Had Your Tea. He has written a biography, That Reminds Me.
