Baltimore Technologies

Baltimore Technologies is an internet security firm founded in the late 1990s by Fran Rooney. It soared in value during the internet boom and became a FTSE 250 firm with a value in excess of a billion pounds sterling. However, lacking any real profits and the Stockmarket Crash of March 2000, its value plummeted from 5.5bn to less than its net cash figure of about 30m. It emerged in December 2004, that the company is to be taken private in February 2005.
