BakuryuhaBakuryūha (爆流破, Known in the English dub as "Backlash Wave") is the name of a fictional attack from the InuYasha manga and anime series. Tessaiga, InuYasha's powerful demon blade, is capable of unleashing this powerful attack in which destructive whirlwinds are created that obliterate even the most powerful of enemies. This attack only works on enemies with massive yōki; in other words, it works only on yōkai. It works by overpowering an opponent's energy with a Kaze no Kizu (Wind Scar), and the subsequent reflection creates a massive backlash of the opponent's own yōki along with the added power of the Kaze no Kizu. Inuyasha gained this powerful ability by slaying Ryūkossei with the Tessaiga, the yōkai that was not only sealed long ago by InuYasha's father but dealt him the fatal wound that ultimately lead to his death.
