BabyfurBabyfur describes a person or character at the intersection of Furry and Infantilism. The personal character of a self-described babyfur will usually be an anthropomorphic animal or fantasy creature with an apparent age equivalent to childhood or infancy in human development. Most babyfur characters wear diapers and many of the people behind those characters also do so, either by choice or out of medical need...or both. Terms in use primarily by the babyfur community include: - Babyfur - Primarily a blanket term for the entire babyfur community, it is also used to differentiate among those who place their characters in different age groups. In this case, a babyfur would be a character who appears as an infant or toddler, or the person playing that character, who is often referred to as the character's player.
- Littlefur - Sometimes shortened to li'lfur (the apostrophe is frequently omitted), this describes a character who appears as a young child or a toddler, or that character's player. Not all littlefurs wear diapers.
- Diaperfur - Usually used to differentiate from babyfurs and littlefurs, diaperfur refers to characters (or their players) who wear diapers, without restriction on the character's age. Sometimes also used as a blanket term to cover all babyfurs, regardless of character age.
- Caretaker - An adult in the babyfur community who enjoys taking care of littlefurs and babyfurs; including such activities as reading stories, feeding, changing diapers, and comforting when tragic events happen. Sometimes, a caretaker will also be a diaperfur. They are often referred to as mommyfurs and daddyfurs.
Also, a babyfur will sometimes use baby talk as a mode of speech, to degrees ranging from a slight slurring, as of a "baby talk accent," all the way to a nearly incomprehensible replacement of most words with words from the baby talk "dialect." See also
