Avtozavodskaya

Avtozavodskaya is one of the Moscow metro stations on the Zamoskvoretskaya line. It was built in 1943 (chief architects - A.N.Dushkin and N. Knyazev). The main construction material is marble. The walls are decorated with mosaics depicting events of the Great Patriotic War 1941 - 1945. In February 2004 there was a terrorist bomb explosion beetwen Avtozavodskaya and Paveletskaya stations with more than 40 people killed, so this name became badly known to all people watching news channels.
